Specifications.

Display boards (also called Kapa-mount or gallery boards) are the premium step up from foam board. The core is a denser, more rigid polyurethane foam, faced with higher-quality paper, giving you a board that feels genuinely substantial and has cleaner, sharper cut edges than standard foam board.

The step up makes them the right choice for art exhibitions, photography shows, gallery displays, museum interpretation panels, and anywhere appearance and longevity matter. Laminated matt or gloss finishes as standard, with anti-glare lamination available for pieces that will sit near spot lighting or natural light.

Frequently asked.

How are display boards different from foam boards?
Display boards (Kapa-mount) use a denser polyurethane foam core and higher-grade paper face than standard foam boards. The result is a board that is about 20 percent heavier, noticeably stiffer, with crisper cut edges and a more premium matt or gloss finish. Foam board is fine for trade shows, meetings, and short-term use. Display board is the right call for art galleries, photography exhibitions, museum panels, and anywhere the physical piece represents the brand's quality standard.
What lamination should I choose for a gallery exhibition?
Anti-glare laminate is the right answer for any piece that will be lit with spot lights or sit near windows. Standard matt laminate can still show specular highlights at the wrong angle, which interrupts viewers' experience of the artwork. Anti-glare adds a fine texture that diffuses light without reducing sharpness of the print. Gloss is rarely right for galleries but works well for commercial photography displays where punchy colour is wanted.
Can you bevel-edge the boards?
Yes. A 45-degree bevel at the edge (exposing a thin triangle of the foam core) gives an architectural, gallery-grade finish that reads much more expensive than a flush cut. Bevelled edges add 20 to 30 percent to the cost of a board and add one working day to the turnaround, but for a public-facing gallery or premium exhibition, they are usually worth it. All bevelling is done in-house at our Bracknell print room.
How quickly can you print display boards?
48 hours from artwork approval is standard for matt or gloss laminated boards. Anti-glare or bevelled edges add a working day. For urgent gallery deadlines, call us on 01344 269692 – we can sometimes go faster for a small rush premium. Collection from our Bracknell print room or free local delivery across RG12 and RG42. Larger boards can be delivered by pallet courier nationally.
What is the minimum order for display boards?
One board. Most display board orders are for specific exhibitions or gallery hangs, so single-unit ordering makes sense. For multi-board exhibitions (a full gallery wall of 12 matching pieces), per-unit cost drops significantly with quantity. Order in pairs, sets of 6, or exhibition complete sets for the best per-board rate.
